Nithin Kamath, Zerodha co-founder and CEO, identified customer retention as the biggest challenge for stock brokers, noting that around 55-60% of Zerodha's users remain active while industry-wide active user proportions are much, much lower. Most investors eventually exhaust their trading capital and stop participating in markets, a problem extending beyond just the F&O segment into equities as well. His comments come amid tighter regulatory norms for derivatives trading and growing concerns over retail investor losses in India's broking industry.
