Nitin Castings Ltd reported its Q1 FY26 unaudited results, with revenue from operations falling about 9.4% year-on-year to Rs. 3,574.54 lakhs from Rs. 3,947.41 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Despite the top-line dip, net profit surged roughly 44% YoY to Rs. 570.59 lakhs (from Rs. 396.08 lakhs), helped by higher other income (Rs. 262.53 lakhs vs Rs. 149.90 lakhs) and lower total expenditure of Rs. 3,092.73 lakhs. Earnings per share climbed to Rs. 11.10 from Rs. 7.70 in the year-ago quarter. On a sequential basis, profit after tax improved sharply versus Q4 FY25 (Rs. 245.39 lakhs). The results were approved by the board on August 14, 2025, and reviewed by statutory auditor Jhunjhunwala Jain & Associates LLP, whose limited review report appears to be a standard unqualified review.
Mixed picture: softer revenue signals demand weakness, but a strong PAT jump and likely margin expansion suggest better cost efficiency and earnings quality. For shareholders, the sharp rise in EPS is a positive, though the revenue decline warrants watching in coming quarters.
