Mr Vishwanath Suresh has ceased to be a Director (Commercial) on the board of NMDC Steel Limited with effect from January 7, 2026. The reason is that the Ministry of Steel has appointed him as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of MOIL Limited, another government-owned company under the same ministry. Since directors of NMDC Limited also serve on NMDC Steel Limited on a co-terminus basis, his departure from NMDC automatically ends his role at NMDC Steel as well. The current board continues to have CMD Amitava Mukherjee along with other functional and government nominee directors.
This is a routine government-level transfer and not a negative event — the outgoing director is being promoted to lead another PSU.
