NSE crude oil options hit record Rs 2,006 crore premium turnover in one day, volumes top 47 lakh

NSE reported record activity in its crude oil options contract, with premium turnover touching Rs 2,006 crore and trading volumes exceeding 47 lakh contracts in a single session. The surge follows a revision to the expiry schedule effective November 6, 2025, which extended the expiry window from two to seven business days before the underlying futures expiry. The exchange also revised the expiry schedule for natural gas options effective May 25, 2026, to boost liquidity and risk management in commodity derivatives.
