NTPC Green Energy has declared that an additional 64.7 MW out of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat has started commercial operation effective 30 June 2025. This is the third phase of commissioning at the project, which is being built by its wholly-owned subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited under the government's CPSU Phase-II Tranche-III scheme. Earlier this month, 110.25 MW was commissioned on 6 June and 146.7 MW on 28 June, taking the total capacity declared operational so far to about 321.65 MW out of the full 1,255 MW.
Positive incremental progress for shareholders, as each phase of commissioning adds to revenue-generating capacity. However, the full 1,255 MW project is still far from complete, so investors should view this as a steady build-up rather than a sudden jump in earnings.
