NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has received a credit rating from India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) dated 18 June 2025. The rating agency assigned the highest investment-grade rating of IND AAA with a Stable outlook to the company's debt instruments. This includes proposed non-convertible debentures worth INR 50 billion, a term loan of INR 95 billion maturing on 31 March 2038, fund-based limits of INR 3 billion, and non-fund-based limits of INR 2 billion. Short-term facilities also received the top rating of IND A1+. The total rated debt facilities come to about INR 150 billion. IND AAA is the highest credit quality rating on Ind-Ra's scale, indicating very strong capacity to meet financial commitments.
The AAA rating with Stable outlook reflects excellent creditworthiness and should help NGEL raise debt at competitive interest rates. This is a positive signal for shareholders, indicating strong institutional confidence in the company's financial health and ability to service its borrowings, supporting its growth plans in the renewable energy sector.
