NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has declared Commercial Operation Date (COD) for 75 MW (Lot-4) of the 500 MW IRCON Renewable Power Limited (IRPL) plant, effective from 00:00 hrs on 02.05.2025. This brings cumulative commissioned capacity at IRPL to 225 MW, with 275 MW still pending. IRPL is a joint venture involving Ayana Renewable Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited (a JV between ONGC and NTPC). With this addition, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC group has risen to 80,095 MW.
Positive incremental capacity addition for NTPC's renewable energy portfolio, supporting long-term green energy growth and future revenue contribution. Limited near-term impact given the relatively small 75 MW tranche within the larger group capacity.
