NTPC has announced the commercial operation start of two solar power capacities through its stepdown subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. The third and final 75 MW portion of the 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan achieved COD on 25 March 2026. The fifth part of 105 MW out of the 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat achieved COD on 29 March 2026. With this, NTPC Group's total installed capacity now stands at 88,889 MW and commercial capacity at 87,809 MW.
This is a positive operational update showing steady capacity addition in NTPC's renewable energy portfolio. The commissioning of solar capacity supports the company's clean energy expansion goals but is a routine milestone and unlikely to cause a significant stock price movement on its own.
