Oil India shared the transcript of its Q1 FY26 earnings call held on August 13, 2025. Standalone revenue fell to INR 5,012 crores (from INR 5,839 crores YoY) and PAT dropped to INR 813 crores (from INR 1,467 crores) mainly due to a 22% decline in crude oil realisation to $66.2/barrel. EBITDA margin contracted from 43% to 34%. Consolidated PAT stayed resilient at INR 2,047 crores, supported by strong contributions from subsidiary NRL (PAT INR 488 crores) and Russian investments (INR 780 crores). Management set FY26 production targets at 3.70 MMT crude oil and 3.65 BCM gas, rising to 3.95 MMT and 4.31 BCM in FY27, with standalone capex guidance of INR 6,995 crores for FY26 and INR 7,585 crores for FY27. NRL refinery expansion is 80% complete with phased commissioning from December 2025.
Lower crude prices significantly pressured standalone earnings, but the consolidated business remained cushioned by NRL and Russian asset contributions. Multi-year production and capex guidance signals management confidence in long-term growth, while near-term margins will remain sensitive to crude oil prices (guided at $65–70/bbl). Shareholders should watch for NRL expansion ramp-up and resolution of the Bangladesh/Gabon provisions (totaling ~INR 514 crores).
