Oil India Limited's wholly owned subsidiary, OIL Green Energy Ltd. (OGEL), has signed a 50:50 Joint Venture Agreement with Hindustan Waste Treatment Pvt. Ltd. (HWT), a subsidiary of SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd. The JV will focus on developing compressed biogas (CBG), waste-to-energy, and sustainable resource recovery projects across India. OGEL brings institutional strength and energy sector experience, while HWT contributes proven technological and operational capabilities in municipal solid waste-based bioenergy, including a successful biogas plant in North Goa operating for over a decade.
