Organic Recycling Systems Ltd (ORSL) has started a pilot study at its NABL-accredited R&D centre in Navi Mumbai to test a 10 kg/hour Downdraft Gasification System that converts hard agricultural waste (coconut shells, cashew nut shells, groundnut shells) into syngas and biochar. The pilot is in early parameter-optimisation stage across four feedstock types, and no results have been reported yet. Management says if the technology works, it could cut the company's own fuel and electricity costs and also be licensed to others. The announcement is forward-looking, with commercialisation dependent on pilot success.
This is a research-stage development with no immediate revenue impact. Positive for long-term optionality, but investors should note the company has not yet committed to commercialisation, and the pilot currently produces no yield or quality data.
