Organic Recycling Systems Ltd (ORSL) has announced that its collaboration with Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy (SSS-NIBE) has reached a key milestone. A pilot biogas plant at ORSL's Solapur facility is now fully ready for commissioning. The pilot uses seed-based co-digestion technology to produce biogas from Napier grass and other agricultural residues. The plant will help test and refine the process, optimise feedstock use, and improve biogas yields before scaling up. Once the pilot runs successfully, ORSL plans to move towards commercial-scale deployment. ORSL already operates India's recognised Waste to Energy plant using patented anaerobic biomethanation technology and an MSW processing plant in Solapur since 2013.
