Orient Bell's gas supplier, GAIL India, has declared Force Majeure under their Gas Sale Agreement citing the ongoing war in the Middle East region. As a result, the company's Sikandrabad (U.P.) plant will receive gas restricted to 80% of its past 6-month average consumption, subject to availability and government directives. The company expects a temporary and partial impact on production at this plant. However, dispatches to customers are continuing normally using existing inventory, and the company says it cannot yet quantify the financial or operational impact. Insurance does not appear to cover this disruption.
Near-term production at the Sikandrabad plant may slow due to the 20% gas supply cut, which could pressure margins and volumes if the situation persists. Investors should watch for further updates as the geopolitical situation in the Middle East evolves and any escalation could deepen the supply squeeze.
