Orient Cement filed an addendum to its Q1 FY26 investor presentation responding to analyst queries from the July 31, 2025 earnings call. The underlying data covers Ambuja Cements (parent group) consolidated and standalone numbers, since Orient was consolidated into Ambuja from Q1 FY26. Ambuja consolidated cement volumes rose to 18.4 MnT (vs 15.3 MnT YoY), revenue grew to ₹10,289 Cr, and EBITDA margin expanded to 19.1% from 15.3% YoY. Power & fuel costs per ton rose 8% sequentially to ₹1,367, attributed to the Orient consolidation, higher clinker inventory build-up, and planned kiln shutdowns that reduced the cheaper waste-heat recovery mix. Cash position dropped sharply from ₹10,125 Cr to ₹2,971 Cr, largely due to ₹5,906 Cr outflow for the Orient acquisition and ₹1,929 Cr in capex.
Short-term margins may face mild pressure from elevated power & fuel costs and integration of Orient, but the Orient acquisition expands volumes meaningfully and strengthens long-term positioning within the Adani-Ambuja group. The sharp cash decline is acquisition-driven rather than operational, so it is unlikely to spook investors.
