Orient Ceratech Limited is upgrading its Baraya facility by installing additional equipment to shift from producing a single product to manufacturing multiple, higher-value and more technologically advanced products. The total investment is INR 26 crores, financed entirely through debt, with completion targeted by 30th September 2025. The existing capacity of 30,000 MT per annum remains unchanged — the move is about product-mix flexibility rather than adding more tonnage. The company expects the upgrade to significantly boost revenue and profit, and is also evaluating the feasibility of new products at the same facility.
This is a product-mix and margin-enhancement play rather than a volume play, which is positive for realisations if higher-value products gain traction. However, the 100% debt funding of the INR 26 crore capex will raise the company's leverage, and any delays in achieving the higher-value product mix could pressure near-term returns.
