Orient Paper & Industries has submitted copies of newspaper clippings (Business Standard and Pratidin) publishing its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended 30 June 2025, as required under SEBI's listing rules. Total income from operations rose to ₹23,834.35 lakhs from ₹21,927.40 lakhs in the same quarter last year, an 8.7% year-on-year growth. The company reported a profit before tax loss of ₹1,784.67 lakhs (narrowed from a ₹2,877.82 lakh loss a year ago), while net profit came in at ₹3,399.29 lakhs versus a loss of ₹1,807.34 lakhs in Q1 FY25, likely aided by a deferred tax credit and a strong other comprehensive income of ₹7,117.22 lakhs. Basic and diluted EPS stood at ₹1.60, compared to a loss per share of ₹0.85 in the year-ago quarter. The results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the Board on 5 August 2025.
For retail investors, the headline is a return to net profitability and steady revenue growth after a full-year FY25 loss of ₹5,465.84 lakhs, which may support sentiment in the stock. However, the core business is still making a loss before tax, so the profit is driven by non-operating items — investors should watch whether operating margins improve in coming quarters.
