Orient Paper & Industries Ltd reported its FY26 audited financial results. The company posted a net loss of Rs 2,880.56 lakhs, significantly improved from Rs 5,465.84 lakhs loss in FY25. Revenue from operations grew marginally to Rs 90,595.14 lakhs from Rs 89,578.83 lakhs. The Paper & Tissue segment continues to be loss-making (Rs 8,340.30 lakhs loss) while the Chemicals segment remained profitable at Rs 2,170.60 lakhs. Finance costs reduced to Rs 2,453.67 lakhs from Rs 3,248.15 lakhs. The Board also appointed Mr. Somnath Mukherjee as Cost Auditor for FY27 at Rs 75,000 per annum. Statutory auditors B S R & Co. LLP issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements.
The company remains in losses with the paper business dragging performance, though losses have narrowed year-on-year. The ongoing operating losses and negative EPS of Rs 1.36 per share suggest the stock may face continued pressure. The chemicals business continues to provide partial offset to paper segment losses.
