Pakka Limited has disclosed detailed bifurcation of its Jagriti Project, a major capital expenditure programme at its existing manufacturing facility with a revised total cost of INR 744 crore. The project encompasses installation of a new paper machine (PM-4), upgradation of existing machines, pulp mill expansion, captive power generation, chemical recovery systems, and effluent treatment plant. Funding of INR 129.91 crore is being raised via preferential issue of equity shares and warrants. The project is in three phases with Phase I targeted for completion by July 2025, Phase II (including PM-4 commissioning) by December 2026, and full commercial operations from January 2027. The revised cost reflects escalations from design changes, time overrun, and foreign exchange fluctuations.
The expansion signals growth ambitions and capacity addition in paper and packaging, but increases the company's capex burden and leverage. Investors should monitor execution timelines and funding deployment given the time overruns already experienced.
