Paradeep Phosphates has commissioned a new 300 TPD Sulphuric Acid Plant at its Mangalore facility effective March 31, 2026, increasing total capacity from 100 TPD to 400 TPD. The Rs. 240 crore project was funded through internal accruals and term loans. The expansion will help the company reduce its dependence on imported sulphuric acid, a key raw material for fertilizer manufacturing. Additionally, the plant will generate approximately 1,05,000 tonnes of high-pressure steam annually from waste heat recovery, replacing fossil fuel-based steam generation and reducing CO2 emissions by around 19,000 tonnes per year.
This brownfield expansion strengthens Paradeep Phosphates' vertical integration by securing captive sulphuric acid supply, reducing input costs, and improving operating margins while also supporting sustainability goals through lower carbon emissions.
