Patanjali Foods has informed shareholders about the tax deduction at source (TDS) applicable on the final dividend of Rs. 2 per equity share (100% on face value of Rs. 2) recommended by the Board on May 15, 2025, subject to shareholder approval. The company had already paid an interim dividend of Rs. 8 per share (400%) during FY 2024-25, taking the total dividend for the year to Rs. 10 per share. TDS will be deducted at 10% for resident shareholders under Section 194 and at 20% (plus surcharge and cess) for non-resident shareholders, with a higher 20% rate applying if PAN is not provided. Shareholders must submit relevant documents to the Registrar (Sarthak Global Limited) by August 30, 2025 to claim any applicable exemptions or lower TDS rates. The record date for the final dividend is yet to be declared.
This is a routine regulatory/compliance communication and is not expected to materially impact the stock price. Shareholders should ensure their PAN, bank, and residential status details are updated with their depository to avoid higher TDS deduction of 20%.
