Patanjali Foods reported standalone revenue from operations of ₹8,899.70 crore for Q1FY26, up about 24% year-on-year from ₹7,177.17 crore, helped by the new Home & Personal Care (HPC) business integrated in November 2024. However, profit after tax fell sharply to ₹180.39 crore from ₹262.90 crore a year ago, a decline of roughly 31%, and EBITDA margin compressed to 3.75% from around 6% earlier due to subdued urban demand, competition from regional and D2C brands, and duty cuts on edible oils. The Edible Oils segment remained the largest at ₹6,685.86 crore, while Food & Other FMCG revenue slipped to ₹1,660.67 crore and HPC contributed ₹639.02 crore with healthy EBITDA of ₹119.50 crore. The Board also recommended a 2:1 bonus issue (already announced on July 17), fixed a final dividend of ₹2 per share for FY25 with September 3, 2025 as record date, and reappointed Swami Ramdev while inducting Durga Shanker Mishra as Independent Director and LIC's Baghrai Majhi as Nominee Director. The 39th AGM is scheduled for September 27, 2025 via video conferencing.
Mixed signals for shareholders: strong topline growth from HPC integration and edible oils, but weak profitability and margin pressure in the core Food & FMCG segment could weigh on sentiment. The bonus issue and final dividend are supportive for retail investors, while the pending arbitration involving 1.86 crore shares being claimed by Ashav Advisory LLP remains a key overhang to watch.
