PBM Polytex reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of ₹4,647 lakhs, up about 13% year-on-year from ₹4,123 lakhs. However, the company stayed in the red with a standalone net loss of ₹78 lakhs (vs ₹103 lakh loss a year ago), while on a consolidated basis the net loss actually widened to ₹147 lakhs from ₹108 lakhs due to the associate's contribution. Total standalone expenses of ₹4,875 lakhs exceeded total income of ₹4,775 lakhs, mainly driven by cost of materials of ₹2,597 lakhs and employee costs of ₹582 lakhs. Standalone EPS was ₹(1.15) and consolidated EPS was ₹(2.14). The auditor issued an unmodified limited-review report on both sets of results, but drew specific 'emphasis of matter' attention in the consolidated review to associate Eurotex Industries & Exports — whose entire net worth is eroded, whose Kolhapur plants have been shut since March 2019, and whose financials are still being prepared on a going-concern basis.
Despite decent topline growth, persistent quarterly losses and the auditor's emphasis-of-matter flag on the associate's going-concern status keep the equity story weak. Shareholders should look for a clear return to profitability and clarity on the associate before turning constructive; near-term sentiment is likely to remain subdued.
