PBM Polytex, a cotton yarn manufacturer, posted Q2 FY26 revenue of about Rs. 3,496 lakhs, down roughly 18% from Rs. 4,257 lakhs in Q2 FY25. On a standalone basis, the company swung to a profit of Rs. 122.63 lakhs in Q2 from a loss of Rs. 161.51 lakhs a year ago. However, for the half-year (H1 FY26), it remained in the red with a loss of Rs. 269.66 lakhs, similar in size to the prior-year H1 loss. Total expenses came in around Rs. 3,699 lakhs for the quarter. The auditor's review report on the consolidated results includes an emphasis-of-matter note drawing attention to the associate company, Eurotex Industries & Exports Limited, whose net worth has been fully eroded and whose Kolhapur plants have been shut since March 2019.
The Q2 profit turnaround is encouraging, but the half-year is still loss-making and the auditor's emphasis-of-matter flag on the associate's eroded net worth and discontinued operations keeps the overall picture cautious for shareholders.
