Piccadily Agro Industries has launched a new premium single malt whisky called Indri Founder's Reserve 11-Year-Old, aged in ex-Bordeaux red wine casks at its Haryana distillery. It is a limited-edition release of just 1,100 bottles worldwide, split between India and select international markets, with ABV of 50% for India and 58.5% for export. The whisky has already won several international awards, including a Gold at the World Whisky Awards 2025, a Platinum at the Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards (98 points), and was ranked #8 in the International Whisky Competition's Top 15 Whiskies of the World. The product is a tribute to the company's founder, Pt. Kidar Nath Sharma, and pricing is on request, positioning it as a ultra-premium offering. The company is highlighting this as part of its premiumization strategy to strengthen its position in the Indian single malt whisky market.
This is a brand-building, premiumization move rather than a near-term revenue driver, given the very limited 1,100-bottle release. It could enhance brand equity and support pricing power for the broader Indri portfolio, which may be positive for long-term investor sentiment.
