Picturehouse Media's board approved audited standalone and consolidated results for FY25 on May 29, 2025, alongside appointing Phanindra & Associates as internal auditor and D. Hanumanta Raju & Associates as secretarial auditor for FY24-25. The auditor (R P S V & Co.) issued a qualified opinion for the seventh consecutive year, flagging doubts over recovery of Rs. 2,879.83 lakhs in film production inventory and over the Rs. 2,521.74 lakhs investment in subsidiary PVP Capital Limited, whose NBFC registration was cancelled by the RBI. The company reported a standalone net profit of Rs. 80.69 lakhs versus a loss of Rs. 122.17 lakhs last year, but this profit was almost entirely driven by a one-time Rs. 543.27 lakh accounting gain from remeasuring related-party borrowings at amortised cost. Core revenue from operations collapsed to just Rs. 3.49 lakhs (from Rs. 49.40 lakhs). The auditor also explicitly flagged material uncertainty over the company's ability to continue as a going concern, given a negative standalone net worth of Rs. 4,073.75 lakhs (consolidated Rs. 6,342.88 lakhs), continuous operating losses, and non-payment of statutory dues.
Negative for shareholders — the headline profit is a paper gain, not from operations, while the seventh straight qualified audit opinion and a formal going-concern warning signal serious financial distress and heightened risk of value erosion in inventory and subsidiary investments.
