Platinum Industries reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of Rs. 1,028.82 million, up about 19.8% YoY from Rs. 859.07 million. However, standalone profit after tax fell sharply by roughly 27% YoY to Rs. 125.18 million (from Rs. 170.98 million), and PBT margin compressed from about 25.4% to about 15.7% as cost of materials and other expenses rose faster than revenue. Consolidated PAT also declined around 26% YoY to Rs. 130.76 million. The Board appointed Mr. Anand Shankar Mahadware as a Senior Managerial Personnel and re-appointed M/s Ashish Bhavsar & Associates as Cost Auditors for FY 2025-26. Post-quarter, a fire at the Palghar plant of subsidiary M/s Platinum Polymers and Additives temporarily halted operations, with financial impact yet to be determined. Auditor PKF Sridhar & Santhanam LLP issued an unmodified limited review report.
Strong revenue growth was more than offset by a steep drop in profitability, which is likely to weigh on the stock in the near term. The fire at the subsidiary plant adds an additional, as-yet-unquantified risk; investors should watch for insurance assessment updates and whether margins recover in coming quarters.
