Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) held its Q4 & FY25 earnings call on May 21, 2025. Q4 revenue was INR 1,464 crores with EBITDA of INR 318 crores (up 44% QoQ) and PAT of INR 221 crores (up 53% QoQ). FY25 EBITDA margin stood strong at 22% and PAT margin at 15%, supported by highest-ever production in sponge iron, steel billets, ferro alloys and power. Net cash position was INR 863 crores, and the Board recommended a dividend of INR 1 per share (100% on paid-up capital). Management guided FY26 volumes of 3 million tons each for iron ore mining and pellets, with EBITDA margins of 20%+ similar to FY25 and top-line growth of 5-7%. Key expansion projects include iron ore capacity ramp-up at Ari Dongri mine, 2 million ton pellet expansion (Q2 FY26), 50,000 ton steel melting expansion (Q4 FY26), and a greenfield structural steel complex. The company also holds a 43.96% stake in Jammu Pigments (non-ferrous metal recycling).
Positive signals for shareholders: record production, strong margins, healthy cash balance, multi-year capex plan targeting growth, and dividend declaration. However, management noted softening pellet demand with prices down 5-7% QoQ, and guidance for Jammu Pigments was withheld, leaving some uncertainty around the new acquisition's contribution.
