SJ Corporation Ltd has received shareholder approval (via Postal Ballot) to alter its object clause in the Memorandum of Association, significantly expanding its permitted business activities. The resolution was passed with 100% votes in favour (71,65,777 shares), with no votes against. Of 493 shareholders on record, only 23 participated in the e-voting. The new objects add diverse businesses including rubber and tyre-related products, sustainable fuels (pyrolysis oil, sustainable aviation fuel, sustainable marine fuel, recovered carbon black from waste), bio and organic fertilizers, pesticides, cosmetics, healthcare products, and real estate/property development. Results were declared on 9th March 2026.
Shareholders have green-lit a major diversification of the company's business scope, opening the door to entry into sustainable energy, agri-inputs, healthcare, and real estate sectors beyond its existing rubber/tyre business. This gives management wide flexibility to launch new ventures, though the lack of public shareholder participation (23 out of 493) means it was largely a promoter-driven decision (promoters hold 59,20,000 of 83,55,000 shares). Investors should watch for upcoming announcements on which new businesses the company actually pursues.
