NLC India Limited has shared updated details about the appointment of Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha as a Part-time Official Director on its board, in line with SEBI's disclosure norms. The appointment is due to a change in nomination by the Appointing Authority (Government of India) and will be effective from the date he completes formalities, including obtaining his Director Identification Number (DIN). Shri Jha is a 1997-batch Indian Administrative Service officer (Sikkim cadre), currently serving as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Coal. He holds an MSc in Public Policy & Management from King's College London and has extensive experience in district administration, rural development, power, mines & geology, and has also worked with UNDP in Afghanistan. He is not related to any existing Director on the NLC India board.
This is a routine government-nominee director appointment typical of public sector undertakings like NLC India. It is unlikely to materially affect the stock price, but it strengthens the board's governance link with the Ministry of Coal, which is a key stakeholder for the company.
