Polyspin Exports reported Q1 FY26 revenue from operations of Rs. 5,736.20 lakhs, up about 17.9% from Rs. 4,866.77 lakhs in the same quarter last year. However, standalone net profit (from continuing operations) fell sharply to Rs. 114.15 lakhs from Rs. 223.23 lakhs, largely because the prior year had a one-time deferred tax credit of about Rs. 77.51 lakhs that did not recur. Profit before tax was Rs. 158.13 lakhs versus Rs. 170.26 lakhs, a modest dip. On a consolidated basis, net profit was Rs. 140.09 lakhs (including Rs. 25.94 lakhs share from associate Lankaspin, Sri Lanka) versus Rs. 178.71 lakhs. EPS continuing stood at Rs. 1.14 standalone and Rs. 1.40 consolidated.
Revenue growth is healthy on the top line, but the headline profit drop looks worse than it is because it is mostly a tax-base effect from last year. Investors should focus on PBT trends and watch for input-cost pressures from higher material consumption this quarter.
