Ponni Sugars has published its 30th Annual Report for FY 2025-26, reporting record performance across metrics. Total income rose to Rs 429 crore from Rs 371 crore, while PBT jumped to Rs 90 crore from Rs 28 crore, largely due to Rs 52 crore exceptional income from a favourable APTEL judgment on electricity tariff for its cogeneration plant (2012-2026 period). PAT reached Rs 48 crore versus Rs 19 crore in FY25. The company crushed 7.06 lakh tonnes of cane with improved sugar recovery of 9.79%. Power exports hit a record high. Dividend has been stepped up to Rs 5 per share (50%) from Rs 3 (30%) last year. The 30th AGM is scheduled for June 24, 2026 via video conferencing. The board also approved a jaggery unit (50 tcd capacity) commissioned in January 2026 as a new business initiative.
Shareholders can expect improved returns with record profits and higher dividend. The exceptional income from the APTEL tariff case provides a significant one-time boost, while underlying sugar and cogeneration operations also showed strong improvement year-on-year.
