Power Grid Corporation's Board approved audited FY2026 results showing standalone revenue of Rs 40,904 crore (down from Rs 41,431 crore YoY) but profit after tax rose to Rs 15,921 crore from Rs 15,354 crore. The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.25 per share for FY2025-26, which combined with two interim dividends already paid (Rs 4.50 in Dec 2025 and Rs 3.25 in Feb 2026) totals Rs 9.00 per share for the year. Additionally, the Board approved raising funds up to Rs 5,000 crore via unsecured rupee term loans from existing lenders. The company also received in-principle approval for divesting its stake in Central Transmission Utility of India Limited and several joint ventures. Statutory auditors issued unmodified opinions on both standalone and consolidated financials.
Stable earnings growth and generous dividend payout (90% of face value) should support shareholder returns. The Rs 5,000 crore fund raise adds to the company's leverage, though borrowing from existing lenders suggests manageable refinancing risk. Asset divestments may provide near-term catalysts.
