Power Grid Corporation of India has informed exchanges that its wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID Narela Transmission Limited, has fully commissioned an inter-state transmission system project. The project, called 'Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-G,' was won through tariff-based competitive bidding. The project achieved complete commissioning on December 7, 2025, and the formal Date of Commercial Operation (DOCO) notification was received on February 24, 2026. This transmission system is designed to evacuate 8.1 GW of solar power from Rajasthan.
This is a positive development for Power Grid shareholders as it adds a new revenue-generating transmission asset to the company's portfolio. The project will earn tariff-based revenue over its useful life, supporting the company's regulated income stream and contributing to its transmission capacity growth.
