PowerGrid shared its investor presentation covering Q2FY26 and H1FY26 results. Consolidated total income for H1FY26 stood flat at ₹23,115 Cr, while EBITDA fell 5% YoY to ₹19,109 Cr and PAT declined 4% YoY to ₹7,197 Cr due to a 30% jump in operating expenses. Transmission charges were marginally lower, partly offset by a 222% surge in consultancy revenue. The company highlighted a robust works-in-hand pipeline of ₹1,52,287 Cr (including ₹1,02,992 Cr in TBCB) and an FY26 capex commitment of ₹28,000 Cr. Long-term visibility is strengthened by the Brahmaputra Basin transmission master plan envisioning ₹6,42,944 Cr of investment up to and beyond 2035. International credit rating was upgraded to BBB+ (Stable) by S&P following India's sovereign upgrade.
Margin pressure is visible with rising operating costs squeezing EBITDA, but the massive order pipeline and Brahmaputra Basin opportunity offer strong multi-year revenue visibility. Credit rating upgrade to BBB+ and continued AAA domestic rating reinforce the company's financial strength and dividend-paying reliability.
