Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has informed the stock exchanges that the 'Transmission System for Power Evacuation from Arun-3 (900 MW) Hydro Electric Project, Nepal of M/s SAPDC – Indian Portion' has been successfully commissioned with effect from 03.09.2023. The commissioning is being reported under Regulation 5(2) of the CERC (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2019, following a CERC Order dated 10.03.2026. This transmission system will help evacuate power from the 900 MW Arun-3 hydropower project in Nepal to the Indian grid. The disclosure has been made under SEBI Listing Regulations, 2015.
This is a positive operational update confirming the commissioning of a new transmission asset, which will add to POWERGRID's revenue-earning infrastructure. However, since the commissioning date is back-dated to September 2023 and the disclosure follows a CERC order in March 2026, the financial impact is already largely reflected in past earnings. No immediate major share price catalyst expected.
