Power Grid's Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects has approved three new transmission projects with a total estimated cost of about ₹964 crore. These include a transmission system to evacuate power from the Bhadla/Bikaner complex in Rajasthan (₹212.81 crore), and two Eastern Region expansion schemes – ERES-43 (₹342.69 crore) and ERES-44 (₹408.94 crore). All three projects are scheduled to be commissioned within 15-18 months from the date of allocation. This is part of Power Grid's regular capital expenditure cycle to strengthen India's power transmission network.
The investment adds to Power Grid's already strong order book and supports steady long-term revenue, but the amount is small relative to the company's overall size and is unlikely to move the stock price significantly. It reinforces the company's growth pipeline in renewable energy evacuation and eastern grid expansion.
