Power Grid Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID ERWR Power Transmission Limited, has successfully commissioned the 'Inter-regional ER-WR Interconnection' project, an Inter-State Transmission System. The project was secured through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding and was fully commissioned with effect from 10th June 2025. The Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) was received on 24th July 2025. This project will enable power transmission connectivity between the Eastern and Western regions of India.
Positive operational milestone — successful commissioning allows the subsidiary to start earning transmission tariff revenue from the project, strengthening Power Grid's overall transmission capacity and earnings potential.
