POWERGRID Infrastructure Investment Trust (PGInvIT) has released its FY2026 results. Revenue from operations increased to Rs. 9,528.59 million from Rs. 8,846.04 million. However, profit after tax dropped significantly to Rs. 7,985.31 million from Rs. 18,874.72 million, primarily due to an impairment charge of Rs. 713.28 million on subsidiary investments (compared to a reversal of Rs. 10,665.89 million in FY2025). Earnings per unit fell to Rs. 8.78 from Rs. 20.74. The independent valuer (INMACS Valuers) has computed the NAV at Rs. 90.79 per unit as of March 31, 2026, down from Rs. 94.02. The Board has approved a distribution of Rs. 3.00 per unit for Q4 FY2026, with a record date of May 20, 2026 and payment by May 27, 2026. Total distributions for FY2026 remained flat at Rs. 10,919.99 million.
The decline in NAV and earnings per unit may create some pressure on the unit price, but the steady revenue growth and consistent distribution payouts (unchanged from last year) provide support. The impairment charge is a non-cash accounting adjustment and does not affect operational cash flows or the underlying transmission asset performance.
