The Board of Prakash Woollen & Synthetic Mills approved unaudited standalone results for Q2 and H1 FY26 (ended Sept 30, 2025). The statutory auditor's limited review report was clean, with no qualifications or adverse remarks. The company operates only in the blankets business, which is seasonal in nature. Exceptional items of Rs 47.82 lakh were recorded in Q2 FY26, mainly from profit on sale of land (Rs 40.33 lakh) and write-back of revaluation reserve. Total assets rose to Rs 13,068.74 lakhs from Rs 11,100.25 lakhs as of March 2025, but operating cash flow turned sharply negative at Rs -443.69 lakhs in H1 FY26 versus a positive Rs 711.33 lakhs in the prior corresponding period. The Board also re-constituted the Audit Committee with four independent directors and the Whole-Time Director/CFO.
For shareholders, the clean auditor review is reassuring, but the sharp swing to negative operating cash flow and rising debt (total borrowings now nearly equal to equity) warrant attention. The higher inventory and payables suggest seasonal stocking ahead of the winter blanket season, which may normalise by year-end.
