Premier Synthetics reported Q2 FY26 revenue from operations of about Rs 416 lakhs, up roughly 68% from around Rs 248 lakhs in Q2 FY25, driven by its textile trading and rubber raw material trading segments. However, the company posted a net profit of just Rs 6.10 lakhs for the quarter versus Rs 10.02 lakhs in the year-ago quarter. For the half year (H1 FY26), net profit fell sharply to Rs 39.50 lakhs from Rs 149.07 lakhs in H1 FY25, a drop of nearly 74%. The core continuing operations actually swung to a loss of about Rs 101 lakhs in Q2 FY26, with profits coming entirely from discontinued cotton yarn operations (the company shut cotton yarn manufacturing from January 2024). Statutory auditor Purushottam Khandelwal & Co. issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
Mixed picture for shareholders: strong top-line growth from trading activity is encouraging, but the sharp fall in overall profitability and the fact that the core continuing business is loss-making raise concerns about the sustainability of earnings. The stock could see pressure given the steep PAT decline, though the clean auditor report removes immediate governance red flags.
