Prime Capital Market Ltd, a Kolkata-based NBFC in the Finance & Investments segment, reported its Q1FY26 unaudited results. Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 81.09 lakhs, up sharply from Rs 28.83 lakhs in the same quarter last year (about 181% YoY growth) driven mainly by revenue from sale of shares (Rs 71.74 lakhs) and interest income (Rs 9.32 lakhs). Profit before tax was just Rs 1.33 lakhs and profit after tax (PAT) came in at Rs 1.00 lakh, compared with Rs 10.70 lakhs and Rs 8.25 lakhs respectively in Q1FY25. Compared to the preceding Q4FY25, total income dropped steeply from Rs 661.71 lakhs, as the previous quarter had a one-off large share sale of Rs 693.50 lakhs and a property sale. EPS for the quarter was Rs 0.01, down from Rs 0.08 in Q1FY25. The statutory auditors issued an unmodified limited review report with no qualifications.
Although revenue grew strongly on a yearly basis, profit margins remain extremely thin and PAT nearly collapsed compared to the same period last year, suggesting high cost-to-income pressure and dependence on volatile share-sale revenues. For shareholders, this is a small-cap NBFC with lumpy earnings and weak profitability — the stock is unlikely to see meaningful positive reaction unless share-sale activity sustains at higher levels.
