Primo Chemicals Ltd has disclosed an update on its planned investment in TPCS Private Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle incorporated on February 13, 2026. The company will acquire a 26% equity stake in the SPV by investing Rs. 21 crores in one or more tranches. TPCS Private Limited will own and operate a 50 MW Solar Power Plant under captive mode on OPEX model. The current shareholding in the SPV is Arpa Infrastructure Developers Private Limited (51%) and Sun Photonics Private Limited (49%). The company expects cost savings of up to Rs. 24 crores per annum upon commissioning of the solar plant. Execution of Power Purchase Agreement and Share Subscription Agreement is pending.
This investment in renewable energy infrastructure could provide operational cost savings and align the company with sustainability goals, though it remains outside Primo Chemicals' core chemical business line. The stock may see neutral to modestly positive reaction as this is a forward-looking investment rather than immediate earnings impact.
