Longview Tea Company has published its unaudited financial results for Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) in newspapers as required by stock exchange rules. Total income from operations dropped sharply to Rs 88.16 lakhs, down from Rs 191.42 lakhs in the same quarter last year — a fall of roughly 54% year-on-year. Profit before tax (after exceptional items) came in at Rs 61.58 lakhs compared to Rs 79.47 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Profit after tax stood at around Rs 58 lakhs. Earnings per share for the quarter was Rs 1.94 (basic and diluted) versus Rs 0.84 in the full year FY25. Paid-up equity share capital remains unchanged at Rs 300.07 lakhs. The results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the Board on August 12, 2025.
The steep drop in quarterly revenue is a negative signal for this small-cap tea company, even though bottom-line profit is still positive. Investors should watch whether this is a one-off quarter or the start of a broader trend, as sustained revenue erosion could pressure future earnings and the stock price.
