Punctual Trading Ltd reported a sharp jump in Q1 FY26 earnings. Total income rose to Rs. 1,356.24 lakhs, up from Rs. 344.89 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a growth of about 293%. Net profit surged to Rs. 1,061.37 lakhs versus Rs. 133.80 lakhs YoY, roughly a 7-8x jump. Total expenses dropped sharply to Rs. 13.90 lakhs from Rs. 142.49 lakhs, which is the main driver of margin expansion. EPS for the quarter stood at Rs. 106.14, compared to Rs. 13.39 in Q1 FY25. The statutory auditor SVP & Associates issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. Prior period figures have been restated/regrouped where necessary to make them comparable.
Very strong headline numbers for shareholders, but the small base and unusually low expenses suggest earnings may be lumpy and not necessarily sustainable quarter after quarter. Investors should watch whether the revenue and profit levels hold up in coming quarters before reading too much into this single quarter.
