Quality Power Electrical Equipments reported its highest-ever quarterly total revenue of ₹1,941 million in Q1 FY26, up 143.6% year-on-year and 49.4% quarter-on-quarter, partly boosted by the consolidation of recently acquired Mehru. EBITDA also hit a record ₹310 million, rising 31.6% YoY and 90.4% QoQ, while profit after tax grew 11% YoY to ₹371 million. Despite the strong revenue jump, margins compressed sharply — EBITDA margin fell to 17.5% from 38.4% a year ago, and PAT margin to 19.1% from 41.9% — partly because the base quarter included a one-time forex gain and Mehru was not part of last year's consolidation. Operationally, the company holds an order backlog of over ₹7,750 million, bagged a marquee HVDC reactor order from PGCIL with Hitachi Energy, secured a ₹1,970 million repeat FACTS reactor order, and signed a ₹2,000 million four-year framework deal with an Israeli client. It also entered a binding term sheet with Yash Highvoltage to jointly acquire Sukrut Electric and took a 26% stake in Nebeskie Labs via a subsidiary.
Record revenue and order wins signal strong demand momentum and successful integration of Mehru, which should be positive for the stock. However, the sharp year-on-year margin compression is a watch point and may invite investor scrutiny on profitability sustainability despite scale gains.
