Quest Capital Markets Ltd reported unaudited results for Q2 FY26 with total revenue from operations of Rs 116.35 lakhs, down from Rs 154.09 lakhs in Q2 FY25, a decline of about 24%. Profit after tax for the quarter stood at Rs 76.25 lakhs versus Rs 106.03 lakhs a year ago, with EPS of Rs 0.76. For the half year ended September 2025, total revenue from operations rose modestly to Rs 333.15 lakhs from Rs 297.71 lakhs, while PAT was Rs 229.88 lakhs (EPS Rs 2.30) versus Rs 223.33 lakhs (EPS Rs 2.23) in H1 FY25. Other comprehensive income showed a large loss of Rs 4,384.69 lakhs in H1 FY26 due to fair value changes in investments, versus a gain of Rs 64,734.54 lakhs in H1 FY25. Net cash used in operating activities was Rs 67.15 lakhs in H1 FY26 compared to positive Rs 3,428.53 lakhs in H1 FY25. Auditor V. Singhi & Associates issued an unqualified limited review report.
Quarterly revenue and profit declined sharply YoY, and operating cash flow turned negative, which may concern investors despite the company remaining debt-free with a strong equity base of over Rs 1,26,000 lakhs. The large swing in other comprehensive income reflects the company's heavy exposure to market-driven fair value changes in its investment portfolio.
