RailTel's Board approved audited results for Q4 and FY25 on May 1, 2025. Revenue from operations for the year jumped to Rs 3,47,750 lakhs from Rs 2,56,782 lakhs, a growth of about 35% year-on-year, driven largely by the Project Work Services segment which grew 62%. Profit after tax rose to Rs 29,981 lakhs from Rs 24,621 lakhs, up about 22%, while Q4 standalone PAT came in at Rs 11,345 lakhs versus Rs 7,753 lakhs a year ago, a 46% jump. EPS for the full year stood at Rs 9.34 versus Rs 7.67. The statutory auditor M/s Lunawat & Co. issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. Related party transaction disclosures for the half year ended March 31, 2025 were also submitted. Operating cash flow after exceptional items fell sharply to Rs 25,534 lakhs from Rs 55,634 lakhs last year due to higher working capital usage.
Strong top-line growth and improved profitability, supported by a clean audit report, are positive signals for shareholders. However, the sharp drop in operating cash flow and the auditor's noted non-compliance with board composition rules (only one independent director and no woman director) are minor concerns. Overall, a healthy performance with continued dividend payments (Rs 9,146 lakhs paid during the year).
