Rainbow Childrens Medicare reported Q1 FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 3,529.3 Mn, up 6.9% year-on-year, while profit after tax jumped 35.4% to Rs 538.1 Mn. EBITDA margin expanded to 29.4% from 28.4% a year ago, and PAT margin widened sharply to 15.2% from 12.0%, reflecting better cost efficiency. Operational metrics were mixed: average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) rose 13% YoY to Rs 63,323, but overall occupancy dipped to 40.2% from 42.4%, with mature hospitals seeing a sharper occupancy drop of about 11%. The company shared a three-year capacity expansion roadmap, targeting total beds to grow from 2,035 to 2,865 by FY28, including new hospitals in Gurugram, Coimbatore, and Bengaluru. Rainbow also completed the acquisition of Prashanthi Hospital in Warangal (100 beds) on July 1, 2025. Promoters held 49.9% of the company as of June 30, 2025.
Margin expansion drove a strong 35% PAT growth despite modest top-line and softer occupancy, which is a positive signal for profitability. However, the dip in mature-hospital occupancy and the large expansion pipeline will need to be monitored for execution and return metrics, as new beds typically take time to ramp up.
