Rana Sugars Limited reported FY2026 revenue of Rs 17,434.41 lakhs, marginally higher than Rs 17,127.90 lakhs in FY2025 (up 1.8%). However, profit after tax declined significantly to Rs 238.14 lakhs from Rs 343.83 lakhs in the prior year, a drop of about 31%. The Sugar segment turned loss-making at Rs 4,654.20 lakhs loss due to lower sugar prices, though Distillery and Power segments improved. Exceptional items of Rs 3,237.54 lakhs primarily include reversal of impairment loss of Rs 2,670.38 lakhs for the Power segment. Cash flow from operations remained positive at Rs 921.93 lakhs. Auditors issued an unmodified opinion.
The sharp PAT decline despite stable revenues and positive operating cash flow suggests margin compression due to unfavorable sugar prices. However, the impairment reversal and positive cash generation provide some comfort. Shareholders should monitor sugar segment performance as it remains the core business.
