Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF), a Government of India undertaking, has allotted 30,000 listed, unsecured, redeemable, taxable NCDs on a private placement basis. The total issue size is Rs. 300 crore, comprising a base size of Rs. 200 crore with a greenshoe option of Rs. 100 crore that was fully subscribed. Each NCD has a face value of Rs. 1,00,000 and carries an annual coupon of 7.49%, paid annually over a 3-year tenure maturing on June 30, 2028. The NCDs will be listed on the Wholesale Debt Market (WDM) segment of both BSE and NSE. Five institutional investors participated, including ICICI Bank, Canara Bank, PNB Gilts, Reliance General Insurance, and Catholic Syrian Bank.
RCF has raised Rs. 300 crore of debt at a competitive rate of 7.49% for a PSU, which will add to its interest outflow but provides diversification of funding. Short-term impact on share price is likely neutral, though it signals continued reliance on debt for funding needs.
